About foo54.com
foo54.com started as a collection of my best web design and development bookmarks. As time passed by, the idea evolved to become this website, that is, an open directory of the most valuable resources, a virtual space where web designers and developers can find and share quality content. Lately I added enough functionality for the site to become an auto-regulated community.

Find and share the best web dev + design websites on the Internet

Along the years and as many of us, I've been collecting valuable bookmarks to a point where I realized I had a few hundreds of them saved in messy folder trees, in different browsers and different computers (laptop, PCs). Although a growing number of solutions were available to sort out the now uncontrollable catalogue, I thought of building a simple platform to create open directories and social catalogues of resources with a few basic community features, that's how foo54.com came to life.

Your contribution

The quality of human contributions can not be replaced by technological means. Open Directories are not meant to replace search engines, they are built on the basis of a different logic as they are a collection of information selected, organized, reviewed and rated by humans. I'd like foo54.com to be the result of a wide online community sharing its best bookmarks (a.k.a. links). Here you can publish, rate, update and review content, you can also feed your website (RSS 2.0), receive alerts, exchange ideas and comments with other users, among others things.

Publishing on foo54.com

Anybody can publish in foo54.com, however there are bots crawling the content permanently looking for offensive, unrelated and any content that doesn't comply with the guidelines. You can read more about the measures I'm taking to ensure the quality of the published content. You can also report broken links as well as content that you believe has been misplaced or is inadequate.

The primary rule to publish is simple and clear: it must be a positive contribution to the web design + development community. Even better that the bots are users' demanding and keen eyes. (Read the full guidelines)

Who's behind foo54.com?

For now it's the effort of only one person, myself. Have you got great ideas and would like to be actively involved? Drop me an email!
